Mr. Ahearn is an attorney-technologist with thirty-seven years of experience in information systems management and application development, including twenty-five as a practicing attorney and legal technology consultant for law firms and regulated business entities.  His practice has focused on information governance, electronic discovery, and related technical project management since 2004.  Matthew is admitted to practice law in New Jersey state and federal courts. He has worked with corporate counsel, IT teams, and trial attorneys on technology selection and deployment projects as well as on numerous high-stakes legal matters managing large and complex digital evidence collections, ESI processing teams, and attorney analytics and document review teams.

Prior to attending law school Matthew was a research systems analyst and computer security manager for the Illinois Institute of Technology Research Institute where he consulted on information retrieval and environmental computer modeling systems development and technology transfer projects for the Department of Defense Electromagnetic Compatibility Analysis Center in Annapolis, Maryland. He is a graduate of Rutgers University where he received a Regular Commission in the U.S. Army Signal Corps and served as a paratrooper in the 82nd Airborne Division.  He received his J.D. from Hofstra University School of Law and completed a clerkship in the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office in Newark, NJ.
